Louisiana Kitten Abused With Fireworks
BRPround News says a six-week-old kitten in Gonzales, Louisiana is receiving care at Rescue Alliance after being intentionally abused with fireworks by a group of teens this past New Year's Eve.
According to the report, Jonathan Henriques, director of Rescue Alliance responded to a phone call from a concerned neighbor stating a group of teens were using fireworks to intentionally injure a young kitten.
Henriques says when he arrived on the scene he saw a group of teens shooting roman candles at a kitten that was being kept on a leash so it couldn't escape.
From brproud.com -
"Henriques said the teens fled the scene as he approached and believes they may live in the surrounding neighborhood.
The kitten suffered a severe eye injury as a result."
The kitten's severe eye injury unfortunately calls for surgery to possibly remove the damaged eye.
The Rescue Alliance is now asking the public's help to raise the funds needed to cover medical costs.
If you'd like to donate to help cover the kitten's surgery, head over the Rescue Alliance of Gonzales at animalrecovery.org.
