Verified: Texas Lottery Reveals Colossal Powerball Win Wednesday
Last week my friends at the McDonald Observatory in the Davis Mountains were thrilling us with pictures and accounts of an amazing planetary lineup in the nighttime sky over West Texas. It was quite the site for those who saw it. It was truly an interstellar sight to behold.
I think Texans like it when things line up. You know things like when you buzz through Houston traffic with no red lights downtown. You slide through the drive-through in Laredo and they get your order right. You play Powerball with the Texas Lottery and the numbers coming out of the hopper lineup with the numbers on your ticket.
And of all those scenarios we've described you can bet that we are here to talk about the one involving the numbers on your Powerball ticket and the numbers officially announced for Wednesday night's drawing. Let's take a look at that drawing, shall we? Here is your Powerball drawing for Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
Host Randy Trainer called it, a life-changing amount of $115 million was on the line and there were more than a few Texas Powerball players standing by to claim it. Unfortunately, no ticket sold in Texas or anywhere across the Powerball footprint matched the numbers needed to claim that huge jackpot prize.
But that doesn't mean there wasn't a big winner compliments of Lady Luck and the Texas Lottery. Wednesday's data sheet provided by the Texas Lottery revealed that 26,319 Texas-sold tickets earned money back from Wednesday's Powerball. Twenty-seven ticket holders earned a prize of $300. Another sixty-two Texas Powerball players earned a prize of $100.
But the biggest prize of all was a $150,000 winner. Only three tickets sold across the Powerball footprint had the number-match scenario to claim that kind of cash. One of those $150,000 winners was a Texas-sold ticket. It's the second Powerball drawing in a row that a player from the Lone Star State has earned the largest prize in a Powerball drawing. I think the same scenario happened on Monday night.
What Were The Powerball Numbers for Wednesday, February 5th?
Alright, let's pull out those tickets and do a quick check of who is paying for coffee this morning. Here are the Powerball numbers:
19 27 30 50 62 Powerball 14 Power Play x3
If you see winning numbers reflected on your ticket then you need to visit and verify those numbers at the Official Texas Lottery website. You can also verify numbers at the Official Powerball website, but the Texas Lottery site has better details on prize redemption.
Because the prize was less than one million dollars we do not have the point of purchase details for you but we do know a $150,000 was sold in Texas for Wednesday's Powerball.
Lotto Texas with Extra! also held a drawing on Wednesday. That game was trying to find a winner for a jackpot of $77.5 million. Alas, there was no jackpot winner again. But we do have some sizeable payouts from Lotto Texas.
Sixteen tickets earned $2,174 in last night's drawing. Those players did not opt for the "extra" in Lotto Texas with Extra! But, five players did and their extra dollar means they'll be collecting a prize of $12,174 from the Texas Lottery.
Your next big chance at instant millions will come on Friday with Mega Millions. That jackpot will be an estimated $94 million. Powerball will draw on Saturday for a top prize of $133 million. Lotto Texas with Extra! will also draw on Saturday. The estimated top prize in that game is $78.25 million.
