SECURITY: How To Blur Your Louisiana Home On Google Street View

Not to freak you out, but, have you never noticed how easy it is to use google street view to check out a business or residential property. Google street view is a handy feature that allows you to get an outside look at any particular business, restaurant, or even home as long as whatever structure you are trying to view was built when the photos where taken.

This feature came in handy for me personally when I was interested in purchasing a home. When I pulled up the address of the home I was interested in on Google Street View, I could see that the pool in the backyard was green and had algae growing in it. This gave me a hunch that the pool had not had maintenance done in quite some time.

While there are some handy ways to utilize Google Street View, you can probably see where I am going with this, "what if I don't want strangers seeing my house on Google Street View?" Here is a simple step-by-step guide on how to blur the image of your personal property on Google Street View.

Blurring Your Home Is Permanent

Once you go through these simple steps, your home will be blurred permanently, and there is no going back. Once you complete the steps you will receive an email from google informing you that your home has been blurred.

Drag this yellow person to where you would liken to go on the map, or type in your address.

Type in your address, tap street view in the bottom right corner, the click report a problem.

Now use the adjuster to select what part of the image needs to be blurred.

Select my home.

Once this box pops up, briefly explain why you want the image blurred.

Enter your email, and then you have successfully completed the process.
