Jobless Numbers Keep Climbing in Louisiana
More and more Americans need help these days. More than 3.25 million workers filed for unemployment benefits a week ago and that's five times the previous record high.
Every state is feeling the pinch, but Louisiana is particularly hard hit. by this medical crisis. SmartAsset.com reports the Bayou State numbers are up 35 times from the previous week. More than 70,000 people filed for help during the 2nd to last week of March.
The report shows Georgia and Utah were the only two states where jobless claims did not double from previous weeks.
