Lafayette Juvenile Facing Child Pornography Charges

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested a juvenile after complaints came into their department about some using Instagram accounts to sexually exploit young people.

According to a press release by Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman Valerie Ponseti, detectives with the Sheriff's Office started an investigation into complaints that these young people in high school were being sexually exploited via Instagram.

Detectives identified their juvenile suspect yesterday, and they say this person created the Instagram accounts that had many images of people under the age of consent who were engaged in sexual activity.

These are high school juveniles that were in the photos.

Ponseti says the investigation is ongoing.
