Last Friday evening two Lafayette pastors delivered a powerful speech at the intersection of Simcoe and General Marshall. The peace rally came after two people were murdered within a weeks span.

Evangelists Lawrence Levy and Brian Evans hosted the rally is hopes of ending the violence in Lafayette.

In the message, one pastor reminded those surrounding him that they could escape their current situation(s) and that violence is NOT the answer.

Behind the pastor was an empty casket to remind those in attendance that this could be their final resting place if things don't change.

The evangelists reminded those listening that they too were once on the streets, but they escaped that environment.

What a powerful message. Now, lets hope that their message was taken seriously and it helps change things on the the streets of Lafayette.
