Lafayette Police Investigate Overnight Stabbing

Early this morning, at approximately 1:30 am, Lafayette Police responded to an area hospital regarding a stabbing victim.  According to the victim, he was on a parking lot in the 1100 block of Mudd Avenue when he engaged in an altercation with an unknown black male.  The suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the arm and back during the altercation.  The suspect then fled the scene on foot.  The victim, a 21-year-old male of Lafayette, drove himself to an area hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
