LDH: August 5th Louisiana COVID-19 UPDATE

The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Wednesday, August 5th.

There have been 125,943 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. That's nearly 1,500 more reported cases since yesterday.

Numbers show that there are 1,471 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized. That's down 16 since yesterday.

223 patients are on ventilators across the state.

The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 is 3,978. That is 41 more reported deaths since yesterday.

As of today, 89,083 COVID-19 patients are presumed to have recovered. That's 14,837 presumed recovered patients since the last report released last week.

The total number of coronavirus cases that have been in the Acadiana region is 20,259 with 432 total deaths reported.

Lafayette Parish: 7,344 total cases, 89 total deaths

Iberia Parish: 2,412 total cases, 69 total deaths

St. Martin Parish: 1,590 total cases, 43 total deaths

St. Mary Parish: 1,511 total cases, 51 total deaths

St. Landry Parish: 2,556 total cases, 81 total deaths

Acadia Parish: 2,536 total cases, 77 total deaths

Evangeline Parish: 817 total cases, 2 total deaths

Vermilion Parish: 1,493 total cases, 20 total deaths
