LDH: July 16th Louisiana COVID-19 UPDATE
The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Thursday, July 16th.
There have been 86,411 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. There are 2,280 more reported cases since yesterday.
Numbers show that there are 1,401 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized. That is 32 more patients reported since yesterday.
93% of the cases reported to the state today were community spread.
36% of cases are of individuals aged 29 and under.
162 patients are on ventilators across the state. That is 13 more patients reported since yesterday.
The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 increased by 24 to 3,375.
As of today, 53,288 COVID-19 patients are presumed to have recovered. That's 6,954 more recovered patients since last week.
The total number of coronavirus cases that have been in the Acadiana region is 11,634 with 292 total deaths reported.
Lafayette Parish: 4,520 total cases, 57 total deaths
