The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Saturday, June 20th.

There are now 49,385 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. That is 870 more reported cases since yesterday.

LDH says they have implemented a new process for improved de-duplication and parish assignment of data received from labs around the state.

Numbers show that there are 574 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized - 13 more than yesterday.

73 patients are on ventilators across the state. That is 2 fewer patients since yesterday.

The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 2,992, an increase of 20 since yesterday.

As of today, 37,017 COVID-19 patients are presumed to have recovered. That's 3,113 more recovered patients since last week.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 3,855 with 229 deaths reported.

Lafayette Parish: 1,364 cases, 33 deaths
