LDH: June 21st Louisiana COVID-19 Update
The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Sunday, June 21st.
There are now 49,778 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. That is 393 more reported cases since yesterday.
LDH says they have implemented a new process for improved de-duplication and parish assignment of data received from labs around the state.
Numbers show that there are 589 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized - 15 more than yesterday.
69 patients are on ventilators across the state. That is 4 fewer patients since yesterday.
The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 2,993, an increase of 1 since yesterday.
As of today, 37,017 COVID-19 patients are presumed to have recovered. That's 3,113 more recovered patients since last week.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 3,913 with 229 deaths reported.
Lafayette Parish: 1,396 cases, 33 deaths
(Up 32 reported cases, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)
Iberia Parish: 469 cases, 42 deaths
(Up 4 reported cases, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)
St. Martin Parish: 514 cases, 28 deaths
(Up 5 reported cases, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)
St. Mary Parish: 384 cases, 35 deaths
(Up 6 reported cases, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)
St. Landry Parish: 465 cases, 55 deaths
(Up 3 reported cases, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)
Acadia Parish: 654 cases, 32 deaths
(Up 8 reported cases, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)
Evangeline Parish: 123 cases, 1 death
(Up 0 reported cases, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)
Vermilion Parish: 130 cases, 5 deaths
(Up 0 reported cases, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)
The numbers are updated and released every day at noon.
