The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Tuesday, May 26th.

There are now 38,054 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. That number is up 245 since yesterday.

Numbers show that there are 831 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized - 16 fewer than yesterday.

103 patients are on ventilators across the state. That is 1 more patient than yesterday

The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 2,596 an increase of 11 since yesterday.

As of today, 28,700 COVID-19 patients are presumed to have recovered. That's 2,451 more recovered patients since last week.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 2,436 with 184 deaths reported.

Lafayette Parish: 678 cases, 23 deaths

(4 new cases since yesterday, no new deaths)

Iberia Parish: 393 cases, 37 deaths

(1 new case and no new deaths since yesterday.)

St. Martin Parish: 291 cases, 22 deaths

(2 new cases, no new deaths)

St. Mary Parish: 304 cases, 29 deaths

(2 new cases, no new deaths reported since yesterday.)

St. Landry Parish: 249 cases, 52 deaths

(1 new case, no new deaths reported since yesterday)

Acadia Parish: 395 cases, 18 deaths

 

Evangeline Parish: 75 cases, 1 death

 

Vermilion Parish: 51 cases, 3 deaths

(No new cases, no new deaths since yesterday.)
