The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Thursday, October 1st.

There have been 166,584 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. That's 608 more reported cases since yesterday.

Numbers show that there are 534 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized. That is 19 fewer hospitalizations than yesterday.

75 patients are on ventilators across the state. That is 4 fewer reported patients on a ventilator than yesterday.

LDH reports the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 is 5,329. That is 8 more reported deaths since yesterday.

154,163 COVID-19 patients are presumed to have recovered, as of September 28th. That's 4,523 more recovered cases than the week before.

Lafayette Parish: 9,011 total cases, 132 total deaths

Iberia Parish: 2,942 total cases, 89 total deaths

(Up 6 reported cases since yesterday, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)

St. Martin Parish:  2,103 total cases, 61 total deaths

(Down 3 reported cases since yesterday, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)

St. Mary Parish: 1,943 total cases, 77 total deaths

(Up 9 reported cases since yesterday, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)

St. Landry Parish: 3,337 total cases, 124 total deaths

(Up 23 reported cases since yesterday, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)

Acadia Parish: 2,966 total cases, 99 total deaths

(Down 3 reported cases since yesterday, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)

Evangeline Parish: 1,334 total cases, 32 total deaths

(Up 0 reported cases since yesterday, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)

Vermilion Parish: 2,042 total cases, 62 total deaths

(Up 1 reported case since yesterday, Up 1 reported death since yesterday)
