The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Wednesday, September 9th.

There have been 154,955 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. That's 1,511 more reported cases since yesterday. This includes a backlog of 690 cases reported to the state dating from 8/6 to 9/4. New cases being reported by LDH is 821.

Numbers show that there are 782 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized. That is 17 fewer reported hospitalizations since yesterday.

123 patients are on ventilators across the state. That is 8 fewer patients on ventilators than yesterday.

LDH reports the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 is 4,970. That is 15 more reported deaths since yesterday.

140,440 COVID-19 patients are presumed to have recovered, as of September 7th. That's 6,008 more recovered cases than the week before.

Lafayette Parish: 8,570 total cases, 116 total deaths

Iberia Parish: 2,820 total cases, 88 total deaths

(Up 59 reported cases since yesterday, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)

St. Martin Parish: 2,030 total cases, 58 total deaths

(Up 20 reported cases since yesterday, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)

St. Mary Parish: 1,808 total cases, 73 total deaths

(Up 19 reported cases since yesterday, Up 1 reported death since yesterday)

St. Landry Parish: 3,209 total cases, 116 total deaths

(Up 49 reported cases since yesterday, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)

Acadia Parish: 2,876 total cases, 94 total deaths

(Up 35 reported cases since yesterday, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)

Evangeline Parish: 1,228 total cases, 29 total deaths

(Up 26 reported cases since yesterday, Up 1 reported death since yesterday)

Vermilion Parish: 1,958 total cases, 50 total deaths

(Up 42 reported cases since yesterday, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)
