Louisiana Father Gunned Down Protecting Daughter From Bullies
As a parent, you would do anything to protect your child from harm, even if it meant putting your own life on the line. A Louisiana father didn't hesitate to defend and protect his daughter last Tuesday outside their home of ten years.

Corey Breaux told WBRZ he heard a group of teenagers repeatedly teasing his daughter and yelling, 'emo girl' outside their home, but it wasn't the first time he has heard other teens picking on his daughter, "I'm so tired that,' as many times we have been together, we have heard that stuff, and just because she's different from you doesn't mean it's funny, doesn't mean it's a joke."
Breaux had enough and went outside and asked the teens to leave, to which they responded, telling him "to get the f on,' he answered back saying 'you get the f on, you by my house'.
The argument escalated, and one of the teens pulled out a gun, pointing it at his daughter. Without thinking twice, Breaux stepped in front of her and took three shots at close range, one to the neck, abdomen, and groin.
His wife Lorena and their children all witnessed the incident that took place at the Afton Oaks apartment complex on Newcastle Avenue in Baton Rouge.
The father of four was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he underwent life-saving emergency surgery. The first question Corey asked when he woke up was "Where are the kids?" his wife, Lorena, explained to him, "you saved your daughter's life."
The Breaux family has set up a GoFundMe to help pay for unexpected medical costs and to help the family relocate to a safer neighborhood.
"My husband was gunned down in front of his house while protecting his daughter from three individuals. He took three bullets to the neck, abdomen and groin. He was in the ICU for multiple days and has now been moved to the 6th floor. He's a father of four children between the ages of 16-8. Sadly his children and myself witnessed this incident. We are asking if anyone can to donate to help out family financially while he takes time to heal. The funds would also be used for us to relocate as this is a matter of safety. Also condolences and well wishes are also accepted! Thank you for everyone who donates and supports us in this difficult time."
Anyone with information about the individuals involved are asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
