Louisiana Teen Accused of Murder in Walmart Stabbing
You could hear the agony in Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso's voice as he addressed the media yesterday afternoon concerning a very disturbing event that happened at a Walmart store in Lake Charles. In that incident, it is believed a 13-year-old girl stabbed another teen, killing the 15-year-old. To make it worse, the incident was allegedly shared on social media.
Three other teenage girls are also implicated in the incident. It is alleged that the girls stole knives from the Walmart store and then used those knives to stab their victim. Sheriff Mancuso told the assembled media that this was the third homicide involving children under 16 years old that his office has investigated over the past six months.

Sheriff Mancuso also made it very clear that all law enforcement agencies in the parish will be aggressively enforcing curfews that are already in place. These curfews are in effect from 11 pm until 5 am Monday through Thursday and 12 midnight to 5 am on weekends.
The incident at the Walmart store on Highway 14 in Lake Charles about 7:30 on Saturday night. The names of the victim and those arrested have not been released but we do know that one teenager is charged with second-degree murder. The three other girls, aged 14,13, and 12 are charged with principal to second-degree murder.
In the press briefing, Sheriff Mancuso urged parents to take control of their children's lives. He also said that his Deputies will be working with store owners and managers and educating them about how to deal with loitering juveniles in their stores.
Calcasieu Parish Deputies are continuing their investigation of the incident and are encouraging anyone with information to please come forward.
