Louisiana Woman Found After Being Missing for 12 Years

A woman from Lutcher, Louisiana who was reported missing by family members over 12 years ago has been found.

Detective Corporal Tamarius Smith with the St. James Parish Sheriff's Office said Angela Williams Franklin has been located, after being missing since January 2012.

Angela was last seen in the 2800 block of Lionel Washington Street in Lutcher around 7:30 am on January 24, 2012. She was seen packing items in her car.

The case was reopened after Smith found an online documentary that discussed Angela's appearance. After a thorough investigation, he found that she was living out of state.

Angela's whereabouts and photos will not be released out of respect for her privacy.

No other information about Anglea Williams Franklin has been released.

St. James Parish Sheriff Claude J. Louis Jr. released the following statement:

I am proud of the initiative and determination shown by Detective Corporal Tamarius Smith during this investigation. Because of his diligence, the family of Angela Williams Franklin knows she is alive and safe. I want to assure the citizens of St. James Parish that every open case will be pursued with the utmost diligence and dedication until we achieve closure and justice for all involved.
