Billy Nungesser, who defeated Baton Rouge Mayor-President Kip Holden for the Lieutenant Governor's position last fall, was in Ville Platte today for the unveiling of the new Zydeco Cajun Prairie Byway.

On his way to that press conference, he called in and spoke with Moon Griffon about the event and what the area has to offer. Nungesser also spoke about how different industries, such as horse racing, should play a bigger role in tourism and how different, diverse areas of the state have so much to offer.

Nungesser also discussed his plans to best promote tourism throughout Louisiana, amid budget cuts. He mentioned not only getting the most out of the lessening resources the department's been given, as well as the difficulty in having to ask for money while other worthy organizations are in need of the money as well.
