The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Saturday, May 2nd.

There are now 29,140 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. That number is up 429 since yesterday.

Numbers show that there are 1,545 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized- a decrease of 62 since yesterday.

208 patients are on ventilators across the state. That is a decrease of 22 since yesterday.

The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 1,950, an increase of 23 since yesterday.

As of today, 17,303 COVID-19 patients are presumed to have recovered.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 1,587 (an increase of 27 cases) with 139 deaths reported (an increase of 2 deaths).

 

Lafayette Parish: 464 cases, 20 deaths (Up one case with no new deaths reported since yesterday.)
Iberia Parish: 265 cases, 22 deaths (Up four cases with one new death reported since yesterday.)
St. Martin Parish: 244 cases, 18 deaths (Up three cases with one new death reported since yesterday.)
St. Mary Parish: 199 cases, 23 deaths (Up six cases with no new deaths reported since yesterday.)
St. Landry Parish: 185 cases, 44 deaths (Up four cases with no new deaths reported since yesterday)
Acadia Parish: 133 cases, 10 deaths (No change in cases or deaths since yesterday.)
Evangeline Parish: 59 cases, 1 death (Up eight cases since yesterday with no new deaths reported.)
Vermilion Parish: 38 cases, 1 death (Up one case with no new deaths reported since yesterday.)
