May 3rd Louisiana COVID-19 Update
The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Sunday, May 3rd.
There are now 29,340 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. That number is up 200 since yesterday.
Numbers show that there are 1,530 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized- a decrease of 15 since yesterday.
213 patients are on ventilators across the state. That is an increase of 5 since yesterday.
The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 1,969, an increase of 19 since yesterday.
As of today, 17,303 COVID-19 patients are presumed to have recovered.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 1,599 (an increase of 12 cases) with 141 deaths reported (an increase of 2 deaths).
Lafayette Parish: 466 cases, 20 deaths
(Up two case with no new deaths reported since yesterday.)
Iberia Parish: 267 cases, 23 deaths
(Up two cases with one new death reported since yesterday.)
St. Martin Parish: 244 cases, 18 deaths
(No change in cases or deaths since yesterday.)
St. Mary Parish: 205 cases, 23 deaths
(Up six cases with no new deaths reported since yesterday.)
St. Landry Parish: 186 cases, 45 deaths
(Up one case with one new death reported since yesterday)
Acadia Parish: 134 cases, 10 deaths
(Up one case with no new deaths reported since yesterday.)
Evangeline Parish: 59 cases, 1 death
(No change in cases or deaths since yesterday.)
Vermilion Parish: 38 cases, 1 death
(No change in cases or deaths since yesterday.)
