Following the alleged arson of three predominantly black churches in St. Landry Parish over a month ago, Vice President Mike Pence is scheduled to meet with faith leaders of the churches.

According to the Daily Advertiser, Pence will visit the final church to be burned - Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Opelousas. 3rd District Congressman Clay Higgins says he helped the White House coordinate the visit.

St. Mary Baptist Church in Port Barre and Greater Union Baptist Church in Opelousas were also torched. All of the church fires happened over a 10-day period, March 26-April 4.

21-year-old Holden Matthews has been arrested in connection to the crimes.

Around $2 Million has been raised on a GoFundMe page for the recovery efforts.
