Fans of the sport of golf who live in Vermilion Parish now once again have a home course. Southern Oaks Country Club has plans to open their 18-hole course this fall and for golfers, in south Louisiana, the opening can't get here fast enough.

The course sits on the site of the recently shuttered Vermilion Oaks Club. The property has undergone extensive renovation and repair since Vermilion Oaks shut its gates in 2017.

The new management with Southern Oaks Country Club says the facility will offer a lot more than just a challenging 18-hole golf course.  There will be a swimming pool for those that like to cool off before or after their round and a pro shop with accessories and gifts will be a part of the amenities offered at the club. There will also be food and beverage service offered at the newly renovated facility.

The club's website currently offers golfers the opportunity to sign up for tee times and to get email updates on the progress of the club too. Golfers can also monitor progress and updates on the club through their social media sites as well.

The club plans to offer membership packages for individuals, families, and corporations. There will also be a driving range membership that golfers can use to sharpen their skills in between rounds.
