The suspect responsible for the shooting death of 22-year-old Kenderick Flugence Jr. which occurred in the 2800 block of Louisiana Ave. on March 24, 2019 has been arrested.

20-year-old Taveon Malik Leary (B/M) of Lafayette turned himself in to the Lafayette Police Department on today. He has been transported to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center where he was booked on an active warrant for Second Degree Murder.


 

Sunday, at approximately 8:00 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 2800 block of Louisiana Ave. in reference to shots fired.

Upon arrival officers located a victim in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Kenderick Flugence Jr. (B/M) of Lafayette.

At this time no suspect(s) have been identified. The investigation is on-going.

According to a report by KATC, police are at the scene of a shooting that occurred on the 2800 block of Louisiana Avenue at around 8 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found one man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. This extent of his condition is unknown.
