Pair Arrested For Smuggling Pot Into Prison
St. Martin Parish Sheriff's deputies did not need to go far to nab two people who were found trying to deliver drugs to an inmate today.
Sheriff's spokesperson Maj. Ginny Higgins reported 18-year-old Sheena Matthews, of Breaux Bridge and a male juvenile attempted to sneak marijuana into the jail during inmate visitation.
Matthews was charged with introduction of contraband into a penal institution, possession with intent to distribute schedule I narcotics, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Following their arrests, the juvenile was released to the custody of a family member and Sheena Matthews was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charges. Her bond was set at $35,000.
