(The Acadiana Advocate) Looks like Lafayette is getting a new Chick-fil-A! According to The Acadiana Advocate, the proposed site will be Johnston Street and Ridge Road. With Chick-fil-A's reputation for causing traffic problems near many of its restaurants around the country, one can only hope that architectural designs will be put in place to keep that from happening on one of Lafayette's most traveled roadways.

A building permit has been filed (April 14, 2022) by a Dallas firm. The permit is for a fast-food establishment to be located at the Johnston Street at Ridge Road intersection.

According to The Acadiana Advocate, the new Chick-fil-A permit will put the new location near Broadmoor Boulevard.

The permit is titled Chick-fil-A, No. 5004, Johnston Street and Ridge Road. The address provided, 5300 Johnston St., is close to Broadmoor Boulevard. -The Acadiana Advocate

The property is currently owned by Goodwill Industries of Acadiana.

Chick-fil-A on Ambassador Caffery Parkway will be moving to its new location on Meadow Farm Road, just off Kaliste Saloom Road at the end of this month. However, there are rumors that the opening date may be delayed a few weeks. The newest Chick-fil-A restaurant will be located on the former Red Robin Restaurant property.

Motorists who travel Kaliste Saloom are already bringing up concerns as to whether or not the fast-food giant will cause traffic problems on Kaliste Saloom Road as it has on Ambassador Caffery Parkway.
