Police Investigate Early Morning Shooting

Early Sunday morning around 4:45 am, Lafayette Police responded to the 100 block of East Pine Street regarding a shooting.  Responding officers located the victim at a residence on East Pine Street who had suffered a single gunshot wound.  The victim, a 47 year old male of Lafayette, was transported to an area hospital and is listed in guarded condition.  Based on information from witnesses at the scene, a disturbance occurred and the suspect allegedly produced a handgun and shot the victim once.

Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department have issued an arrest warrant for Attempted 2^nd Degree Murder for the arrest of Thomas Edward Nunez (20) of Lafayette. Detectives are asking anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Nunez to call the Lafayette Polic
