Senator Kennedy Is Hopeful For Coronavirus Treatment Soon

Louisiana John Kennedy is sticking with a message of hope as our state response to one of the highest rates of COVID-19 in the nation. Kennedy joined Rob Kirkpatrick and Bernadette Lee on a special Saturday edition of Acadiana's Morning News. The Senator was hopeful that as a vaccine is being worked on, other therapeutic drugs are being researched. He says the federal government is spending billions of dollars for drug companies to find some form of treatment that could lessen the effects of the virus on those who are infected.

Kennedy says negotiations are continuing today on a deal that would put money in the pockets of Americans whose lives have been affected. The proposed stimulus would also benefit small businesses who are trying to keep their doors open during the crisis.

The proposal would reportedly include $1,200 dollars for individuals who earn less than $75,000 annually and $2,400 for married couples with a household income of less than $150,000 annually. $500 would be paid for each minor dependent.
