St. Martin Parish was one of the hardest hit areas on Saturday as yet another heavy round of rains plowed through Acadiana. And unfortunately, more are likely on the way on Sunday.

As a result, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office reports that several roads in the parish are still impassable.

Below is the list of roads still flooded and closed as a result:

  • Grand Point @ Grand Anse
  • Grand Point to Cecilia H.S. Highway
  • Doyle Melancon Extension
  • Alcide Bonin Road
  • Quail Run
  • Underpass at I-10/Henderson

Some roads have water but are still passable. But, please, only pass with caution and only if necessary:

  • Harold Stoute
  • Ches Courville near Quail Run
  • Lelan Road
  • Roman Robin
  • St. Peter Drive

As this is a fluid situation, please remember to adhere to signs placed by authorities. Additionally, the SMPSO would like to ask sightseers to stay off the roads.

St. Martin Parish Government has announced that self-serve sandbag locations will be open today, Sunday, June 2, 2024, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the following locations:

  • South Barn - 1011 Capritto Forty Arpent Road
  • Paul Angelle Park - 2458 Cecilia Sr. High School Road
  • Ruth Bridge Barn - 1035 Ruth Bridge Hwy
  • Breaux Bridge City Barn - 233 Refinery Street

There will be a limit of 20 sandbags per vehicle.

Local government is asking residents to call (337) 394-2808 to report residential or business damage related to the flooding or for any additional questions. You can also report any flooding damage to damage.la.gov.
