St. Martinville Man Busted For Growing Marijuana

A St. Martinville man is behind bars for growing marijuana on the outskirts of town.

Sheriff's spokesperson Maj. Ginny Higgins reported deputies found evidence of marijuana being grown at a property in the 1100 block of Russo Milazzo Road in St. Martinville.

Deputies recovered marijuana plants, and equipment used to grow them, at the residence of 64-year-old Robert Russo.

Russo was arrested and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:  manufacturing of a Schedule I CDS (Marijuana), creation or operation of a clandestine laboratory for the purposes of manufacturing a CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia.

No bond has been set.
