Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office started an investigation of activities at 32-year-old Brandon Latigue's Bayouview Drive home this month.

Agents say they found large bags of chemical compounds used in the production of synthetic cannabinoids.

Detectives then found empty pre-package materials used to distribute synthetic cannabinoids.

Police say children that were in the home were turned over to a guardian.

Latigue was booked in the St. Mary Parish Jail on the following charges:

  • Possession of synthetic cannabinoids with intent to distribute
  • Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Violation of a CDS law (Drug Free Zone)

He was released on a $9,500 bond.
