St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Daily Arrest Report
The following is a list of the people who were booked into the St. Mary Parish Correctional Center for Wednesday, September 12, 2018:
Donnie Joseph, 27, 106 East Long Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on September 11, 2018, at 8:20 pm on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, failure to use seatbelt, failure to honor written promise to appear, and criminal neglect of family.
James Pierott, Jr., 55, 107 Long Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on September 11, 2018, at 7:46 pm for the following charges:
- Careless operation
- Driving while intoxicated
- Driving under suspension
- No insurance
- Misuse of toxic vapors
- Possession of synthetic cannabinoids
- Introduction of contraband into a penal institution
A deputy patrolling the Baldwin area observed a vehicle traveling over the speed limit and crossing the right line onto the shoulder. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Pierott. Through the investigation, drugs were found in the vehicle. The deputy conducted field sobriety and Pierott performed poorly. Pierott was transported to a local medical facility to have blood drawn for testing due to the DWI arrest. The deputy also learned of active warrants for the passenger, Joseph. Pierott and Joseph were transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. Joseph’s bond was set at $5,076.57. No bail was set for Pierott.
Juvenile male, 14, Patterson, LA was arrested on September 12, 2018, at 12:03 am for ungovernable juvenile.
A deputy patrolling the area of Patterson was dispatched to a residence in response to a juvenile who did not return home after school. With help from the Patterson Police Department, the juvenile was located and was arrested. The juvenile was released into the custody of a parent pending juvenile court proceedings.
NARCOTICS SECTION
Merlin Venable, 55, 1064 Lake Palourde Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on September 11, 2018, at 2:33 pm on a warrant for possession of crack cocaine, obstruction of justice, and violation of controlled dangerous substance law (drug-free zone, church).
A detective with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section was patrolling Amelia and made contact with Venable due to an active warrant for his arrest. Venable was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail was set.
