8 names combined appear on the St. Mary and St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office arrest reports, which cover the last 24-hour reporting period.

In St. Mary Parish, deputies say they responded to 34 complaints:

Stacey L. Grubb, 1113 Iberia Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 17, 2017 at 3:16 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for a drug court status conference and failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. A deputy received information about Grubb's whereabouts and the active warrant for her arrest. Grubb was located at her residence and transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail for Grubb is set at $100,000.

John Loustalot, 32, 1209 Cayce Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 17, 2017 at 7:36 pm for theft of goods and remaining where forbidden. A deputy responded to a report of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. After speaking with store security personnel, the deputy surveilled the male suspect and observed him walk out of the store. The suspect was detained by other deputies who were waiting outside. Deputies located over $300 in stolen items concealed in the cargo shorts Loustalot and on his person. Store security personnel also informed deputies that Loustalot was previously banned from store property. A deputy transported Loustalot to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Loustalot was later released on a summons to appear in court on April 5, 2017.

Gregory P. Wesley, 44, 1215 Cypremort Road, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on January 17, 2017 at 7:20 pm for telephone harassment and on a warrant from the Franklin Police Department for simple burglary of a pharmacy. A deputy investigating a complaint of harassment in the Four Corners area found evidence that Wesley texted a threatening message to a female victim. The deputy located Wesley walking on Highway 318. While speaking with the deputy, Wesley stated that he sent the message to scare the victim into talking to him. The deputy also found that Wesley was wanted on a warrant from Franklin Police. The deputy transported Wesley to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail is set.

Robert W. Tatum, 51, 5530 Timer Leaf Way, Bessemer, AL was arrested on January 17, 2017 at 10:31 pm for driving under suspension and careless operation of a motor vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to single vehicle crash on Levee Road in Charenton. The deputy located the driver of the vehicle and identified him as Tatum. While speaking with Tatum, the deputy learned that he lost control of the pick-up truck he was driving and struck the guardrail of the bridge over the Charenton Locks. The deputy also found damage to a nearby chain link fence and found that Tatum's driver's license was listed as suspended. Tatum was released on a summons to appear in court on April 5, 2017.

Cindy Brown, 54, 3909 Bayou Black Drive, Houma, LA was arrested on January 18, 2017 at 3:06 am for no motor vehicle insurance and stop sign violation. A deputy assigned to patrol Amelia observed a vehicle fail to stop at 2 stop signs on Highway 182 and the frontage road. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, identified as Brown. The deputy also found that Brown was operating the vehicle without insurance. Brown was released on a summons to appear in court on April 5, 2017.

George March, 40, 2110 Highway 319, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 18, 2017 at 5:06 am for criminal trespass and disturbing the peace (intoxication). A deputy responded to a report of a suspicious person at a residence on Highway 87 in Charenton. The deputy located March on private property. The deputy observed that March was wet, covered in mud, and swaying from side to side. The deputy also smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. During the subsequent investigation, the deputy learned that March was causing a disturbance outside of the residence. March was transported to the St. Mary Paris Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $2,000.

 

In St. Landry Parish, an Opelousas man and an out-of-parish man are the only two names listed on the arrest report:
Randy Earl Hunter, age 41, 120 Huntington Dr., Monroe, LA, possession of marijuana, speeding, no driver's license. Arrested by Louisiana State Police.

Quincy DeRay Burney, age 41, 215 Miller Rd., Opelousas, La, disturbing the peace/public intoxication, 15 counts of public intimidation. Arrested by Louisiana State Police.
