A wild finish to an escaped inmate's run from the law. State Police say it all happened on I-10 near Sulphur. Troopers clocked Charles J. Doyle driving 99 mph in a 50 mph zone. A pursuit ensued, and at one point, troopers say Doyle was driving faster than 125 mph. The chase ended when Doyle tried to exit the interstate, but he drove off the road and struck a guardrail. He then tried to run away on foot, but police found him hiding in a drainage ditch. Doyle was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center on several charges, including fleeing from an officer and speeding 125-plus in a 70 mph zone.
