I'm not a cook, but I've always owned a rice cooker for some reason. Actually, my family has enjoyed a few gumbos of mine over the years. And what goes with gumbo? Rice!

At Christmas a few years ago, my ex-wife and kids gave me the Tiger JBV-A10U 5.5 Cup (Uncooked) Micom Rice Cooker with Food Steamer Basket. I can't say enough about this rice cooker.

There are 4 one-touch settings making this rice cooker so simple to use. Just press one button for synchro-cooking (cook rice and steam vegetables, seafood, etc. at the same time), plain rice, brown rice or slow cooking. Yes, this little gem even doubles as a slow cooker.

A built-in computer cooks perfect rice every time. Just rinse your rice, add an equal amount of water, select the appropriate button and that's it.

The Tiger JBV-A multi-functional electric rice cooker is available in two models, 5.5 Cup (Uncooked) and 10 Cup (Uncooked) and comes with everything you see here.

There are much fancier models with more features, but for me, I like the idea of pressing one button and letting a computer handle the rest. Tiger's Automatic Cooking Logic system cooks the world's most perfect pot of rice in just a few minutes.

Tiger makes many different models and sizes of rice cookers, but this one is perfect for my family and me. I like it so much, I gave one to my daughter's boyfriend for Christmas 2020.
