Thirteen People Arrested As Part Of Alleged Insurance Scheme
Troopers from the Louisiana State Police Insurance/Auto Theft Unit arrested 13 people today that they believe allegedly took part in a insurance scheme in order to defraud automobile insurance companies.
Trooper Brooks David reports that troopers begin their investigation after getting complaints from insurance companies about possible fraud concerning crashes in Lafayette Parish.
David says that investigators believe the member of the fraud ring would stage crashes, claim they had injuries that didn't exist and also claim property damages as part of the crashes.
Troopers believe that the scammers bilked the insurance companies out of more than $30,000.
While thirteen people have been arrested, three people are being sought including:
31-year-old Olivia Darbonne of Venice Florida
28-year-old Natalie Miller of Carencro
25-year-old Brakeisha Broussard

The following people were arrested today:
22-year-old Kedrick Broussard of Carencro was arrested and served a warrant at the Winn Correctional Center were he is already serving time for an unrelated case
48-year-old Stanley Bernard of Carencro
41-year-old Dedrick Jones of Carencro
31-year-old Edward Jones of Carencro
45-year-old Joseph Jones of Carencro
30-year-old Jillian Miller of Carencro
40-year-old Christine Sam of Carencro
44-year-old Katina Broussard of Lafayette
35-year-old Kenneth Pappillion of Lafayette
23-year-old Tranai Trahan of St. Martinville
24-year-old Ranisia Williams of St. Martinville
61-year-old Patrick Martin of Duson
29-year-old Brittany Louvierre of Scott
Troopers have been working on this case for over close to a year.
Several agencies partnered with State Police to lend assistance with this case including Troop I, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office and the Carencro Police Department.
