I-10 Opens After Early Morning Incident

The roadway has completely reopend.

Louisiana State Police have now had to close Interstate Ten from Lafayette, Traffic is being diverted onto I-49 until further notice.

Officials are working to clear the situation on the basin from earlier this morning after an 18-wheeler fired. It will likely be several more hours, but we will update you as soon as we know more.

Things are moving slowly on I-10 eastbound this morning after an 18-wheeler caught fire on the Atchafalaya Basin.

Louisiana State Police says that the right lane of traffic is blocked on the eastbound sided near mike marker 129. This is right near the Iberville/St. Martin Parish line.

According to a KPEL listener, traffic is moving at about 10 miles per hour.
