Two Arrested on Multiple Car Burglary Charges in Acadia Parish
Maybe residents in parts of Acadia Parish can breathe a little easier knowing that two men who appear to be responsible for a multitude of car burglary crimes have been arrested. Acadia Parish Sheriff's Deputies took the two men, Jimmy Lee Matthews, 21, and Marcus Jude Redlich Jr., 19, both of Crowley, into custody yesterday.
Police believe the two men were responsible for a rash of crimes that happened this past weekend. It is believed that as many as 15 vehicles may have been burgled by the pair during their weekend crime spree.
The area hardest hit, according to police, were the areas south of Rayne, south of Crowley and in Ebenezer. In addition to the charges in Acadia Parish Matthews is facing similar charges in Vermilion Parish.
Currently, both men are facing 13 counts of vehicle burglary and two counts of theft. Law enforcement officials were quick to note that the pair could be facing even more charges are their investigation continues.
