A convoy of Seabees assigned to the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion in Mississippi were returning from an exercise in Louisiana when they came across a vehicle submerged in a swamp area off of I-10.

The group of Navy construction workers (Seabees) were just outside of New Orleans when they spotted the vehicle in the water, and that is when the young men jumped into action.

In the vehicle was an elderly couple, unable to get out, and that is when the convoy of Seabees came to the rescue. The Navy construction workers were able to pull the elderly people out of the vehicle and get them to safety.

However, their efforts didn't stop there, once emergency personnel arrived on the scene, the Seabees returned to the submerged vehicle to retrieve personal belongings.

Once the scene was secure and the elderly couple was treated by emergency personnel, the Corpsmen continued on their journey and returned to the Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport.

According to Divishub:

"The mission of NCG 2 is to organize, man, train, maintain, and equip Naval Construction Regiments (NCRs), NMCBs, the Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit (CBMU), and the Underwater Construction Team (UCT) to provide supported commanders with expeditionary engineering forces capable of general engineering and construction, and limited combat engineering across the full range of military operations."
