Walt Bennetti from clickjefferson.com joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today and discussed Governor Jindal's proposed tax swap plan and the start of the 2013 legislative session.

According to Bennetti,

With everything going on with the tax-swap, with the budget deficit and the privatization of the hospitals.  With all of these huge important issues the legislators still found time to pre-file 900 new bills.  All of these bills are simple, just allocating money for lawsuits and things like that.  But, do you know there are five separate bills for license plates.  Five bills for license plates including one that says 'I'm Cajun'.

We asked Bennetti what his favorite bill was from the 900 that had been pre-filed and he replied,

My favorite bill has to be House Bill 144 put by Rep. Terry Brown.  It requires the LSU Board of Supervisors to offer first-time entering freshman tickets for purchase to attend football games in Tiger Stadium...I guess freshman don't get enough tickets.  So he wants to make it mandatory.  I don't know if he has a daughter or son going to LSU and they had a little trouble getting tickets.

Bennetti went on to say,

Why don't they vote on whether we will have an income tax or not instead of filing bills for exemptions.

There's a lot more to the conversation that you can hear by listening to the entire interview:
