It was double the fun today on “Mornings with Ken and Bernie” as we were joined by both City-Parish President Joey Durel and Downtown Lafayette's Executive Director Cathy Webre for this week's edition of “Lafayette Live”.

The theme was the future of downtown.

Webre was excited to announce that next Tuesday at 5:30 PM the Downtown Development Authority was hosting their "Downtown Summit" at the Acadiana Center for the Arts. The Summit will be citizens of Acadiana's second opportunity to weigh in on their vision for the future of Lafayette's downtown area.

Webre explained that some of the biggest concerns with the downtown area's future were increased residential area, parking, new businesses, and a more direct connection with the University of Louisiana.

Downtown belongs to everybody. It's everybody's second neighborhood.

With the recent growth Downtown Lafayette's seen in the past few years the sky is truly the limit, but we'd like to know what you'd most like to see Downtown Lafayette become. Let us know in the comment section.
