Acadia Parish Sheriff Spokesperson Arrested

56 year old Maxine Trahan was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail today and charged with felony theft. Trahan for many years had been the Public Information Officer for the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office. According to our news partner KATC, Trahan was charged with felony theft of over $25,000 on warrants issued by the 15th Judicial District Attorney's Office. Since 2010, Trahan allegedly kept more than $48-thousand that should have been deposited into a sheriff’s account. Booking of Trahan occurred at 12:04pm and she was released by 1:00pm.
