After Shortage, Grape-Nuts Offering Refunds
One of the items in short supply during the COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic is making its way back to the grocery shelves.
What the company is calling "The Great Grape-Nuts Shortage of 2021" is no more: Post is announcing the return of the cereal, and is also offering some customers who continued to purchase the hard-to-find breakfast cereal a refund.
During the pandemic, the laws of supply and demand came into play for many items: the cost of bleach, disinfectant, tissue, hand sanitizer, and other products that were in high demand began to creep up. Since Grape-Nuts was in short supply, the cost of one box had risen in some areas to over $10. According to the Post website, if any customers paid more than $10 per box of Original Grape-Nuts cereal, the company is offering to reimburse the difference.
We know that some of you paid inflated prices to third-party sellers for your favorite cereal while Grape-Nuts was off store shelves. To show our appreciation for your loyalty and support, we are offering you a chance to be reimbursed if you paid $10 or more for a box of Grape-Nuts Original cereal... - Post
You'll need to provide a receipt for your purchase, but I think it's a great business move to offer loyal customers a refund.
Why are some people such big fans of Grape-Nuts? Well, according to Healthline.com, Grape-Nuts is one of the most healthy cereals you can eat. The Grape-Nuts website lists the ingredients as Whole Grain Wheat Flour, Malted Barley Flour, Salt, and Dried Yeast. No added sweeteners (natural or artificial), no gimmicks, no cartoon characters. Just a simple, healthy cereal.
Welcome back, Grape-Nuts!
