The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has begun repair work to one of the busiest intersections in Lafayette. Ambassador Caffery has been reduced to one lane heading south from Ridge Road to Tucker (entrance to Mall of Acadiana). In addition, Johnston turning onto Ambassador has been reduced to one turning lane to adjust for the construction. Finally, one turning lane of Ambassador Caffery heading north-bound and turning on to Johnston St. towards Maurice has been closed. The construction is expected to take approximately two weeks, and is focused on the south-bound right hand lane of Ambassador Caffery, which has been the site of concrete buckling and potholes.

If you need to head towards the Kaliste Saloom area, you may want to consider either Camellia or Pinhook as an alternate route. If you are headed towards Mall of Acadiana on Ambassador Caffery, you may want to take the detour from Ridge Road to Rue De Belier to  Duhon Road.
