National Children's Grief Awareness Day is November 19, 2015 and increases awareness of the needs of grieving children and how they benefit from the support of others. Annie Calliouet of Healing House joined Brandon and Bernie on 'Acadiana's Morning News' to discuss how the Acadiana community can support grieving children as well as their families, as well as a Healing House's efforts on behalf of grieving children.

Caillouet encouraged listeners to participate in National Children's Grief Awareness Day by wearing blue on November 19 and posting photos of themselves to social media, especially on the Healing House Facebook page. Calliouet also asked local businesses to consider hosting a blue jean day on National Children's Grief Awareness Day to show support for grieving children.

Calliouet also asked listeners to consider participating in a new event Healing House is offering this year, the NAGC Fall Webcast on Children's Grief. Calliouet explained that the webcast sessions feature assistance in 'helping children and adolescents from a hospice perspective as well as children and teens dealing with an unexpected death.' The webcast event is Thursday, November 12 from 11 AM - 4 PM and costs $15 (including lunch).
