The Lafayette Parish Bayou Vermilion District will hold their 7th annual Bayou Vermilion Festival and Boat Parade on Sunday, May 20th. The festival will be held at Vermilionville beginning at 10:00 am with activities that include live music, fishing, food, drinks, a bubble station, free yoga, and free face painting for adults and children. New this year is the Catfish Rodeo and Cook Off!

The boat parade will begin at 2:00 pm at Vermilionville, end at the Camellia Bridge Canoe and Kayak Launch on Camellia Blvd. Patrick Henry and the Liberation Band will provide entertainment, and food and drinks will also be available.

Online registration is open until May 19th, and you can also register your boat on the day of the event. Participants are being asked to decorate your boats, and wear costumes, and yards and homes along the river route are also being encouraged to decorate for the festivities. A 'Spirit of The Bayou' Contest will give out prizes for best decorated boat, costumes, and yard decorations.

If you don't live along the route, you can watch the parade from Vermilionville, Beaver Park, Rotary Point or at the Camellia Bridge Canoe and Kayak Launch.
