Boyfriend Arrested in New Iberia Woman’s Death

59-year-old Luis D. Valdez now sits in the Iberia Parish Jail on one count of 2nd Degree Murder after his 38-year-old girlfriend was found dead in a camper trailer at a home in the 5400 block of Norris Road on Saturday night.

Witnesses say the couple had been fighting during the day and deputies found evidence of the disturbance inside and outside the home.

The Iberia Parish Coroner's Office will release the victim's name and manner of death. The investigation continues.
