Lafayette Police spokesman Corporal Karl Ratcliff tells KPEL that a driver did damage a portion of Our Lady Of Fatima Church this morning.

A listener told us that the traffic crash this morning on Johnston Street between Ronald Boulevard and Oakview involves a car that hit the church.

Ratcliff says the driver, 47-year-old Christopher Guillot drove his vehicle into the doors at the Fatima Church building.

Police say narcotics were a factor in the crash.

He was arrested for OWI and aggravated criminal damage to property.

The driver was the only person injured. He suffered minor injuries.
