Impairment is suspected to be the reason behind a crash that killed one person in St. Mary Parish Friday evening.

According to Louisiana State Police Troop I spokesperson Brooks David, 52-year-old David Polidore of Centerville was driving his truck east on La. Hwy. 182 when for some reason he crossed the centerline and crashed into a small car driven by 56-year-old Rhonda Mello of Franklin.

Polidore's truck rolled onto its side and continued into the westbound lane where is crashed into another truck driven by 50-year-old Terry Adams of Patterson, David said.

"Polidore was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, but was pronounced dead by the St. Mary Parish Coroner’s Office," David said.

David said Mello and her passenger, Harley Mello, were wearing seat belts and received moderate injuries. Both were transported to a local hospital and treated for their injuries. Adams and his passenger, Crystal Gonzalez, were wearing seat belts and were not injured.
