On 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today Congressman Jeff Landry said record high gasoline prices were being caused by lack of action on the part of Congress and lack of leadership by the President.  He also said tapping the Strategic Petroleum Reserve would be an expensive, non-productive move.

Congressman Landry said tapping the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is a short-term solution to a long term problem.  According to Landry,

"The state of Louisiana and the nation would be better served by building new refining facilities and easing drilling regulations."

In addition to easing regulations for the oil industry Landry said it's time the Administration understands that the promotion and financing of green-energy solutions is hurting the economy and preventing job creation in the oil industry.
