Councilman Asks Robideaux To Hold Off On LUS Director Replacement
A letter by Lafayette City-Parish Councilman Bruce Conque to Mayor-President Joel Robideaux asks that he holds off on appointing a new permanent head of Lafayette Utilities System. Jeff Stewart has been the interim Director of LUS and can be until mid-2020. By that point, the next Mayor-President will be in office and Conque believes that person should be able to appoint their pick for the post.
A national recruiter has been employed by Lafayette Consolidated Government to find the next Director. LCG has already receieved a list of qualitied candidates. Mayor-President Joel Robideaux has not responded to the letter. The new appointee will replace Terry Huvan who was the longest-serving Director of the utility system.
